International Walk to School Day

International Walk to School Day is a global event that involves communities from more than 40 countries walking and biking to school on the same day. It began in 1997 as a one-day event. Over time, this event has become part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school and a celebration – with record breaking participation – each October.

World Heart Day

Walking is a great way to get out and get active! To celebrate World Heart Day (September 28th) why don’t you get out walking in your commuity. By organising a walk you and people from your commnity can help keep fight heart diease. Walks can be organised at any time during the week before or after World Heart Day and can be any size, groups from 3 to 300 have been organised in previous years. The focus of the day is walking for fun. If you are interested in getting involved, please complete an application form –once you register as a walk organiser they will send you a World Heart Day pack.

The Great Fjord Swim

Swim Irelands only fjord in he deep, clean waters if he Atlantic Ocean on Saturday 11th October. Choose from 2 distances 750m or 2km. The event is open to swimmers of all abilities. Wetsuits must be worn by all.
